ALWAYS CHECK THE LABEL ON THE SPOOL. IF YOU PRINT PETG WITH PLA SETTINGS YOU MAY DAMAGE THE PRINTER
ALWAYS USE THE TEXTURED SHEET WITH PETG
Grey Bruce Makers now has PETG filament available for 3d printing on the Prusa MK3S+. Please read this page at Prusament.com explaining PETG uses and properties.
Please put the PETG filament in the PETG box and the PLA filament in the PLA box. Always check the label on the spool when you use filament regardless of which box you take it from. People make mistakes; someone might have returned their filament to the wrong box. PETG has a higher melting temperature than PLA. If you use PETG on PLA settings then the printer will jam. If you use the PLA on PETG settings then the flow will be too high and the bottom layer will remain liquid causing structural problems.
Always use the textured sheet with PETG. PETG sticks to the smooth Prusa sheet and can rip off the special PEI plastic coating. The textured sheet can be used safely with PETG. Please read more about the textured sheet here. We have a third party (not Prusa brand) textured sheet but the information is the same. Use the gold side (the textured side) of the sheet. When not in use please return the textured sheet to the bin with the PETG filament.
