These are my disorganized notes regarding the Einscan HX software.

Black and dark surfaces require the laser.

Scanning at 0.1mm creates too many points, just use 0.5mm.

Einscan calls a scan a “project”. Scans (projects) are grouped together in Project Groups. When scanning even a small part, expect to do several scans. In other words, create several projects then align the projects before generating the mesh.

The workflow with the software is something like this:

• assemble the hardware.
• calibrate the scanner
• select laser or rapid (optical)
• create a project group
• repeat these steps until the object is completed scanned:

1. create a project (the first project is created automatically)
2. do the scanning.
3. trim the scan using the editing tools
4. save the trims
5. generate a pointcloud for this scan
