Tips for Engraving and Cutting Foamboard

General Tips about Foamboard

Expect the board to have a warp in it. If you put it on the table such that the bottom of the warp is in the middle of the board and the top edges are elevated then it is easier to tack down.

Another technique to deal with large warped sheets is to cut the outer pieces first where it is easier to tack down the board. Then you can use the cut holes to add additional tacks.

Foam will retract from the cut edges. This is normal.

Fred's Suggestions for Adams Readyboard

These tips are specifically for Adams Readyboard available locally at Dollar Tree cut on our 80 watt CO2 Epilog Fusion Pro machines.

Engraving

NOTE: FOAMBOARD MAY WARP WHEN ENGRAVED.

2 Cycles Speed 100 Power 30.

Full Cut

2 Cycles Speed 100 Power 25 Freq 50.

Half Cut

1 cycle Speed 100 Power 20 Freq 50.

David's Suggestions for Waterproof Flitetest Readyboard

These suggestions were tested on Flitetest waterproof readyboard manufactured by Adams.

Engraving

One pass Speed 100 Power 35

Full Cut

Three cycles Speed 100 power 20 frequency 50

Half Cut

One cycle speed 100 power 10 frequency 50
